It is actually a term used in evolutionary biology, it's not like saying evolutionist. Evolution is bigger than Darwin and over time there have been different schools of thought within it, for example the distinction between Darwinism/neo-Darwinism and Lamarckism.

Dr.Dawkins is a very intelligent man with so much to say and share by his research and findings. The one thing I wish he would not have said (about 44 min) "Darwinism" instead of the research and findings of Darwin. There is no "Darwinism" like Einsteinism or Newtonism. Other than this, He is a great man and I hope that more people will listen and learn from his works..

A lot of the audience were shipped in from a fundamentalist Christian university. Possibly Liberty University but don't quote me on that.

Reading a book like that is a step of faith. However if it wasn't meaningful to you or challenging maybe you could take a bigger step.
Contrary to what some may believe no one is born a christian. People who have strong faith in God have learned to rely on him through their life experiences.
I encourage you to keep thinking and asking about what might be a more appropriate step for you that would challenge your faith.
